The Bloggers' Cafe

One of the most unusual aspects of this past NECC is the concept of "continuing the conversation". Normally when NECC is over, we go through the convention "stuff" [handouts, CDs, pens, promotional toys], read over our notes, listen to podcasts and watch a few Webcasts of sessions we didn't get to attend.

This year, some people didn't attend sessions [which I didn't do...expensive] but hung out at a place called "The Bloggers' Cafe", which was a big table for laptops, with chairs, a few comfy couches and hordes of people milling around watching people, well, blog which is an interesting concept by itself!

I spent a few minutes there with the "guys" and met some of the people whose blogs I read and they were very charming gentlemen. I watched them help some newbie bloggers and chat amongst themselves.

Even if you are not a blog writer and are just a blog reader, this is a new idea worth some thought. I am going to continue thinking about this by visiting "The Blogger's Cafe" a blog created to continue the conversation beyong NECC. This is the first day of their blog.
